The Story

HM9 takes its silhouette from mid-century concept cars and early jet fuselages. The case is built from a machined titanium body with two lateral pods, each containing its own balance wheel oscillating independently.

Those two balances feed a central planetary differential, visible through the aperture in the nose, which averages their rates into a single output. The engineering rationale is real: two oscillators averaged produce a more stable rate than one.

The dial is mounted vertically at the front of the machine, which means the watch is read by turning the wrist rather than by glancing down. That is either a flaw or the point, depending on the collector.

Case construction is the hard part. The compound curves require the body to be machined from a solid billet and finished by hand, and the assembly involves dozens of gaskets to keep a case shaped like this sealed.

Thirty-three pieces per execution. Once they are placed, they are placed.

Two balance wheels, averaged by a differential, in a jet fuselage.
