Fast forward to 2021 and SJX watches released 200 more poker chips into the wild, this time with an updated titanium case that was a much better fit for the El Primero. The crazy sub-dial markings are still there but are filled with lume that jumps off the grey dial. Turn the lights out and even one of the straps that came with the watch will glow brightly, creating a watch that is hard to miss. The overall effect is a beautiful reimagining of the 1970s original that improves everything the older watch had, and shows sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks.
